The first time I set foot on this property I knew I needed to be here. There is magic in the desert and my creativity soars, it’s like traveling to another world but only being 2 1/2 hours from Los Angeles.
For a true escape, I wanted guests to feel as if they might be eating on another planet.
Landscaping is integral to any property.
I want to keep building these little moments, all over the property, so adventure is literally in the backyard.
The original stone work for the house was remarkable so when remodeling this room we wanted to pay homage to it's craftsmanship.
I wanted to include lots of moments on the property to hike to, meditate on and star gaze.
Decor is a feeling too. These metal toadstools add warmth and whimsy.
The bedroom is the second most important room in the house. Imagine starting your day with this view.

With its own helipad, The Mojave Moon can offer a quick retreat from the city or desert festivals.
Every tableau is an opportunity to tell another story.
Reduce reuse recycle... amazing sculptural installations pepper the property.
I like to create places where you can get lost both physically and sensorially too.
Construction of two other structures has started on the property.
A star and a moon.
Inside will be natural elements and curved corners to soften the modern edge.
To the moon and back suddenly isn't so far. I wanted to experiment with traveling to other worlds while still remaining grounded.
The challenge was utilizing the shape and form of the moon.
Exterior walls will have metal custom sconces to mimic an out-stretched arm holding a gas lit fire ball.
I want to literally reflect the desert in these houses by using all of the elements found here.
There will be a live wall and a water feature cascading on the exterior entry walls.
3D wood panels will line the interior entry way walls and floors.
In the middle of the structure will be a sunken star shaped living room.
With floor to ceiling windows, the desert landscape becomes part of the decor.
